Riding lessons at Ham House Stables

Riding Lessons

We teach mostly private, semi-private riding and groundwork lessons. All our horses are classically trained and professionally schooled. Our aim is to help you to understand what effect the use of your body has on the horse’s balance and movement and how by correcting your position, a harmonious partnership can be achieved. Lessons take place in a safe and pleasant environment where every rider enjoys the instructor’s focused attention. We progress with care and always at your pace. The theory of riding is relatively simple but we can help you to understand its principles and put them into practice.

Groundwork & In Hand work, Jenny Mawhood, Minette Rice Edwards, Ham House Stables

Groundwork and in-hand lessons

Studying the horse when on your feet gives you greater insight and deeper understanding of how to ride with more feel, connection and harmony. During these lessons, you will have the opportunity to create a closer relationship between you and the horse, and learn about their correct movement, physiology, and conformation.
